Liam Payne will be laid to rest in a private ceremony on Wednesday afternoon after his tragic death last month, with all of his One Direction bandmates set to attend, as well as his former mentor
Liam Payne, the former One Direction member, will be remembered in a private ceremony on Wednesday afternoon. The pop star tragically lost his life after a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16 at the tender age of 31.
Five weeks to the day since the heartbreaking incident, his family has organized what’s been described as a “perfect service” for their beloved son. An insider revealed to The Sun: “Liam’s funeral is taking place tomorrow afternoon in the Home Counties.”
“His family have gone to great lengths to put together the perfect service and give him the send-off he deserves.”
“Liam may have been a global superstar but to Geoff and Karen he will always be their little boy. It is going to be an incredibly difficult day.”
The Strip That Down singer found fame with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan after being formed on X Factor in 2010.
It’s reported that all his former bandmates will gather to say goodbye. Simon Cowell, the music tycoon who was instrumental in One Direction’s rise, is also expected to attend the funeral in Britain.
Following Liam’s untimely passing, the band expressed their sorrow over losing their “brother” and promised to share more memories when the time felt right.
In an emotional Instagram post, the devastated friends expressed their sorrow: “We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.”

They continued to cherish his memory: “The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam.”
The grief came following the Wolverhampton artist’s stay in Buenos Aires with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy to witness Niall perform. Although he chose to extend his stay after the show, Kate departed just days prior to the tragedy.
An authoritative statement from prosecutor Andres Esteban Madrea’s office announced that subsequent to the incident, three individuals faced charges including “abandonment of a person followed by death, supply and facilitation of narcotics.”
