“We don’t want a mini Kanye West”: North West Announcing Debut Album Has Fans Worried About Kim Kardashian’s Daughter
Kim Kardashian and Ye West (formerly known as Kanye) are two of the most famous people in the world. By extension, their four children–North, Saint, Psalm, and Chicago–are also media figures in their own right. After recently enjoying her first taste of commercial success, the eldest of the bunch is apparently looking to make a name for herself with her own career.
North West appeared at a listening event for her father’s upcoming album Vultures 2 over the weekend. The show took place in Phoenix, AZ on Sunday (March 10), and her mere presence was enough to excite the thousands in attendance. The young musical talent took the moment to share some exciting news with the crowd.
During her moment in the spotlight, West stated, “I’ve been working on an album…” Before she could even finish her sentence, the crowd erupted in cheers and applause.
The young West then went on to state that the forthcoming collection “is called Elementary School Dropout.” The title is a reference to her father’s own album The College Dropout. That set, released in 2004, established Ye as one of the most exciting new figures in hip-hop. The project turned him from a sought-after producer into a star in his own right.
West is only 10 years old, and right now, there are no more details available about Elementary School Dropout. She may never release the album, which wouldn’t be shocking, given how young she is. The fact that she’s working on a project like that at such a young age is impressive, and she’s surely being helped by her parents–or at least one of them.
The eldest child of West and his former wife Kardashian recently appeared on her dad’s latest album, Vultures 1. She’s featured on the tune “Talking,” and she’s officially credited as a featured artist–which is more than most contributors got.

“Talking” debuted and peaked at No. 30 on the Hot 100 the week that Vultures 1 arrived at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The tune marked her first appearance on Billboard’s competitive ranking of the most-consumed songs in the U.S. Her arrival made her one of the youngest people to hit the tally, and certainly one of the youngest to break into the top 40 region.
North wasn’t the only one of West’s children that appeared at the Vultures 2 listening party. As she performed “Talking,” the father of the brood brought out both Psalm and Chicago. The audience seemed to love that the event was a family affair, as there appears to be a real affection for both the rapper and his children.
