Much like how Jiren was presented in DBS‘s story, Goku seemed untouchable for a stretch of the battle until Gohan finally connected with a massive punch to his father’s chest. It was a blow that nearly matched the satisfaction of the first solid hit Jiren took in episode #110.

Gohan Finally Got His Time To Shine Against His Father

While the future of the Dragon Ball Super story is currently up in the air after the tragic passing of author Akira Toriyama, Gohan proving himself against Goku’s might would be a fantastic ending for the series. After the franchise returned, DBS helped create a new audience and excite long-time fans with its incredible battles and extremely gratifying character moments. In a series that’s inspired millions to push past their limits to accomplish their goals, Dragon Ball Super‘s brilliant scene with Gohan and Goku ranks among the franchise’s best moments and will likely stick with readers for years.
