The most recent example is when Jisoo and Rosé shared their love for a mini evening dress that flatters the figure, making it a great reference for those who have the same body shape as the two girls.

On July 10, at the Cartier Trinity 100 event in Singapore, Jisoo was present to celebrate with the French jeweler. For the event honoring the Cartier Trinity jewelry icon, the singer chose an architectural style dress set. Her outfit consisted of a bandeau top and a mini skirt that flared out like a Japanese ginkgo leaf.

The bronze-colored outfit and sturdy shape make Jisoo’s dress look like it was cast from a metal mold. But in fact, the design is made from raffia fiber, which is breathable and elastic, easy to fold, and not as sturdy as it looks. The woven fibers create the monogram of the brand name – GCDS – that appears and disappears with each step the female idol takes.

Jisoo’s outfit at the Cartier event came from the Spring Summer 2024 collection of GCDS – an Italian brand founded in 2015. Compared to the original on the runway, Jisoo’s team edited the outfit to tighten the waist, and the flare of the skirt was more obvious, helping to create an hourglass figure effect for the female idol-actress.

BLACKPINK fans felt that this dress looked very familiar. That’s because before Jisoo, Rosé chose a similar birdcage mini dress set for Rimowa’s activities.

At the launch of the new product of the luggage and handbag brand Rimowa in Seoul in April, Rosé appeared like a princess with a dress with a tight waist and a sturdy flared skirt. The masterpiece that Rosé wore was from the Markgong Fall Winter 2024 collection, named the “birdcage” dress because it kept its shape as if it was padded with a stiff skirt – a familiar part of old European dresses, or bridal dresses.

Another notable thing is that Jisoo and Rosé have the same thoughts when it comes to coordinating jewelry and accessories. On the GCDS and Mark Gong runways, the birdcage dress was paired with knee-high boots, creating an impressive and bold look. Meanwhile, both BLACKPINK members chose pretty, elegant high heels to match the dress. Therefore, Jisoo and Rosé’s appearance is as sweet as a princess.

Jisoo and Rosé’s looks in mini party dresses with puffy skirts both received a storm of compliments, almost becoming typical moments in the event looks of the two BLACKPINK pieces. The reason is not difficult to guess but worth considering: The dress style suits the girls’ natural body shapes.

In Jisoo’s case, she has a classic apple-shaped figure, with wider hips than shoulders and a less defined waist. Jisoo’s legs and arms are not long, creating a sense of fullness across the width. Choosing a dress with a tight waist and flared out is a smart choice that allows her to enhance the effect of her body curves.
