Erik ten Hag has made the clearest indication yet that Jadon Sancho is part of his plans for the upcoming season.

Sancho, 24, spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after being exiled by United manager Ten Hag in a very public spat.

The winger was banished after he refused to apologise to the Dutch manager in a row over his efforts in training.

After Ten Hag publicly called out Sancho in a press conference, the player responded by claiming he had been made a ‘scapegoat’ by the United boss – branding his claims ‘completely untrue’.

Sancho has now returned to United ahead of the 2024/25 season and held talks with Ten Hag before resuming training with his teammates.

Ten Hag has now shed light on those discussions, saying they has settled their differences during the talks without confirming if Sancho had apologised.

“Yeah, as we said, we’ve drawn the line,” Ten Hag said, when asked if Sancho has a future at Old Trafford.

“Manchester United need good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on.”

When asked whether Sancho’s return to training represents a fresh start for the winger, Ten Hag added: “We’ve drawn the line. We move on.”

Sancho’s contract at United runs until 2026, with the club holding an option of extending it to 2027.

He has been linked with several top clubs this summer, including Italian giants Juventus, but now looks increasingly likely to remain at Old Trafford.

Sancho did not feature in United’s 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg on Monday – their opening game of pre-season.

He was not part of the squad that travelled for the match, having started his preparations for the new campaign later than his teammates.

Sancho could, however, make an appearance when United take on Scottish club Rangers at Murrayfield in their next warm-up match on Saturday.

Ten Hag’s side will then travel to the United States for games against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool.
