This week, Eminem shattered Taylor Swift’s chance of breaking a music record by replacing her album on the top of the Billboard 200 list.
The Detroit rapper’s latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), knocked Taylor’s Tortured Poets Department from its number one seat on the chart. For the past 12 weeks, the album has been number one and if it charted for one more week it would have tied Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life for the longest time at the top of the charts
While some Swifties might see this move as an act of war on Eminem’s part, Eminiem has had much bigger feuds with other female pop stars. Let’s take a look at two of his biggest feuds with two of the most iconic names in music.

In 2002, Eminem released his song Superman which contained the lyrics: “What you tryna be? My new wife? What, you Mariah? Fly through twice.” Fans quickly started to speculate that Mariah and Em were dating.
Then in 2009, he name-dropped her again in his song Bagpipes from Baghdad, claiming the two had broken up. “Mariah, whatever happened to us? Why did we have to break up,” he rapped.
He didn’t hold back from hitting out at Mariah’s then-husband Nick Cannon either. “Nick Cannon better back the f–k up, I’m not playin’, I want her back, you punk,” the lyrics go.
The We Belong Together singer claims that she never had a relationship with Eminem, though he continued to insist he did. Mariah clapped back with her song Obsessed, where she dressed as Eminiem in the music video pretending to be an obsessed Mariah Carey fan. Lyrics included: “Why are you so obsessed with me, boy I wanna know.”

Christina appeared in an MTV documentary in 2000 where she talked about Eminem’s music video for his song “My Name Is.” While she praised the song, she said she heard Eminem was married to “the girl he talks about killing on his record,” Kim – who he has talked about murdering in various songs.
Xtina then spoke out against abusive relationships, telling women to avoid them. This somehow annoyed Eminem, who told a reporter at the time: “I’d rather of had her say nothing about me. She heard a rumor, she didn’t know if I was married or not, she just heard a rumor and then put me on blast.”
“I figured well f–k it, since she did that… Alright, you said something about me so I’m going to voice some rumors I’ve heard about you,” he continued. Then on his song The Real Slim Shady that was released three months later, he made 𝑠e𝑥ual comments about Christina and accused her of giving him an STD.
Christina seemed to hit back in her song Can’t Hold Us Down, where she sings the line: “Should I keep quiet just because I’m a woman?”
