Elon Musk predicts Optimus Gen 2 humanoid robot will be the ‘biggest product of all time’

Tesla CEO Elon Musk introduced a fleet of Optimus humanoid robots during the company’s highly anticipated ‘We, Robot’ event. According to Musk, the potential of the Optimus robot is nearly limitless.

He also claimed that the robots can now ‘do anything.’ They can perform various tasks, such as walking your dog, babysitting, mowing the lawn, and even serving drinks.

Elon Musk also predicted that Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot ‘will be the biggest product ever of any kind.’ He thinks it will be the most significant product ever created.

One would think that such a robot would be quite expensive.

However, according to Musk, Tesla envisions the long-term price for the robot falling between $20,000 and $30,000.

“The Optimus will walk amongst you,” said Musk during the event.

Soon enough the robots descended to the show floor and served drinks to the audience.

Elon Musk also bragged about how the Optimus robot could do anything, emphasizing the robot’s versatility.

However, he also made some wild claims like Tesla eventually manufacturing millions of units.

“I think everyone among the eight billion people on Earth will want an Optimus buddy,” says Musk.

It is quite a far stretch as far as predictions go, but the robot will certainly make quite an impact on Tesla’s growth.

“Optimus robot will revolutionize the world more than ever!” Musk said in a post on X.

“Whatever you can think of, it will do,” he said.

During the event, the robots were also seen playing a game of rock-paper-scissors with attendees

A few of them were also dancing inside a gazebo in a choreographed manner.

The Optimus humanoid robot has evolved rapidly since it was first introduced in 2021.

However, it might be a while before it can perform a variety of household chores and fulfill Tesla’s vision.

This DIY replica of a Lamborghini Aventador is so spot on that you’d need to be an expert to tell them apart.

The homemade Lamborghini was created using bits of pieces of cars from all over.

In fact, the mesh grille on the unique Franken-car’s front and rear bumper actually comes from an old Lambo Aventador.

And with the car up and road-ready its creators decided to see how it compared to the real deal. Why not, right?

The homemade Lamborghini Aventador looks the part

There are some wildly creative and super inventive folks out there – we’ve previously seen this one-off oversized bumper car that is, somehow, road-legal.

We’ve watched a guy create his own Cybertruck entirely out of wood.

Let’s not forget this mechanic who built a Lamborghini V12 Vision GT that has a frankly mind-bending amount of detail.

Meanwhile, this Lamborghini Aventador was made by the team from The Strekal YouTube channel.

A cool time-lapse video shared on the channel showcased the hard work that went into the car to get it looking so similar to the real one.

And with the work all finished, they decided to put it up against a legit Lamborghini Aventador to see how it compared.

Let’s be honest, at first glance it’s almost impossible to tell which is the real one.

But it doesn’t drive quite like the Lamborghini

That’s not to say the cars are identical and the DIY job has a few of the sort of production issues you just wouldn’t see on a Lamborghini, such as a big gap between the window side panel and larger, less elegant-looking wing mirrors.

And it only takes a quick trip out on the road to really lay the differences bare.

For a start, the real Lambo has a very distinct sound that the replica isn’t quite able to replicate.

The real version is also a lot more powerful and – thanks to its carbon-ceramic brakes – has incredible stopping times.

The same can’t be said for the DIY version, but when it comes to down looks alone the differences are a lot harder to spot.
