U80 model Maye Musk, mother of the world’s richest billionaire Elon Musk, is very happy to be on the cover of America’s leading swimsuit magazine Sports Illustrated.

Recently, America’s leading swimsuit magazine Sports Illustrated announced the 4 cover faces of its special issue in 2022, namely Kim Kardashian, singer Ciara, rising model Yumi Nu and veteran “long-legged” Maye Musk, mother of the world’s richest billionaire Elon Musk.

At 74, Maye Musk, a Canadian-American nutritionist and model, is still very youthful and beautiful. She shared that being on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine was something she never dared to dream of.

“My first reaction was, I could never dream of something like this because why would a 74-year-old model be on the cover of Sports Illustrated, especially in a swimsuit,” said Maye Musk. “I think this will make women in their 70s feel more comfortable swimming, as well as women in their 20s and 30s.

When women go to the beach, we often feel self-conscious about our bodies, but men are different. They don’t care what they look like. So I don’t think we need to care so much.”

Maye Musk looks youthful and charming in a swimsuit photoshoot with colorful and elegant outfits. The mother of tech billionaire Elon Musk said that the atmosphere of the photo shoot with famous photographer Yu Tsai in Belize was very pleasant.

“Everyone was polite, kind, considerate, caring. So I felt very comfortable in a swimsuit. Once you’ve done your first set of photos, you’ll feel okay taking the next set of photos because then you’ll be more confident in a swimsuit,” said Maye Musk.

In her 2019 memoir, A Woman with a Plan: Advice for Life, Beauty, and Success , Maye Musk spoke openly about aging and said that the negative energy around her is not something she or others should try to accept.

“I’ve gone through different stages of my life where I’ve been rejected, I’ve been insulted, I’ve felt disappointed and it just takes away my confidence. So you have to get over it. So now that I’m 74, I’m very happy. No one insults me because who wants to insult an old lady? The thing is, people have been so nice to me at this stage but why did I wait so long?”, Maye Musk confided.

The U80 model said that she learned to change her surroundings and eliminate negative influences from her life. It was a way to help her develop herself.

“If we associate with people who have treated us cruelly and done the same things, you will suffer like me. Instead, you should switch to associating with kind people,” said Ms. Maye Musk.

Model Maye Musk’s daughter, Tosca, also expressed her admiration for her mother in an article for Sports Illustrated. Tosca wrote: “My whole life, I’ve seen my mother do so many things. So I think I’ll always expect her to be able to do everything. Sometimes I wonder, ‘Is it time to start limiting those expectations as she gets older?’ But when I look at my mother, she hasn’t stopped.

My mother is now 74 years old. In her years on this earth, she has earned two master’s degrees in nutritional science, won awards in the field of dietetics. She has participated in countless fashion shows and magazine photoshoots. She even appeared in a Beyoncé video. She has an uncontrollable strength and she is the strongest woman I know.”

Maye Musk was born in 1948 and has been a model for 50 years. She has appeared in many major magazines such as Time and Vogue. Maye Musk has a son, tech billionaire Elon Musk, the richest person in the world with a fortune of more than 300 billion USD.

As a young woman, Maye was a finalist in the 1969 Miss South Africa pageant. In 1970, she married Errol Musk, a South African engineer. The couple had three children: Elon Musk, Kimbal Musk, and Tosca Musk. Maye earned a master’s degree in nutrition from the University of the Orange Free State in South Africa. She later earned a master’s degree in nutritional science from the University of Toronto, Canada.
