Selena Gomez Breaks Down in Tears Over Trump’s Deportation Efforts

Selena Gomez expressed her deep emotional turmoil over recent deportation efforts by the Trump administration in a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, which she later deleted. In the poignant clip, the pop star broke down in tears, voicing her distress over the impact of these actions on immigrant communities, particularly children. “All my people are getting attacked,” she lamented, emphasizing her empathy for those affected. The video was posted shortly after the Justice Department announced a crackdown on immigration enforcement in Chicago, citing the need to uphold U.S. immigration laws for public safety and national security.

In the video, Gomez captioned her message with a Mexican flag, stating, “I’m sorry,” and expressed her helplessness amid the crisis, stating, “I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.” Following the emotional outpouring, she shared a subsequent post that read, “Apparently, it’s not okay to show empathy for people,” which she also later deleted.

This is not the first instance where Gomez has spoken out on immigration issues. In 2019, she produced a Netflix series titled “Living Undocumented,” which highlighted the struggles of undocumented immigrants and shared her own family’s immigration history. In a reflective essay for Time magazine, she recounted how her aunt crossed the border from Mexico to the United States hidden in a truck, emphasizing the sacrifices made by her family and the privilege she feels for being born a U.S. citizen.

Gomez’s advocacy for immigration reform stems from a personal connection to the issue, as she expressed her daily thoughts on undocumented immigration and her fears for those in vulnerable situations. Her emotional response underscores the ongoing national debate surrounding immigration policies and the human stories behind them.
