James Sunderland receives a mysterious letter from his deceased wife, Mary, claiming she’s waiting for him in their “special place” in the town of Silent Hill — a fog-shrouded, abandoned town known for its supernatural horrors. Despite Mary having died from a terminal illness three years earlier, James travels to Silent Hill, desperate for answers. As he explores the eerie, shifting town, James encounters other disturbed individuals: Angela, a traumatized young woman searching for her mother, Eddie, a man consumed by paranoia and guilt, and Maria, a woman who looks exactly like Mary but acts very differently — flirtatious and provocative. James is also stalked by Pyramid Head, a grotesque executioner figure that seems to haunt him personally, committing violent acts that reflect James’s inner torment. Through hallucinations, cryptic clues, and increasingly twisted encounters, James is forced to confront a painful truth: he himself euthanized Mary to end her suffering — an act he has buried deep in his subconscious. The town of Silent Hill manifests his guilt, grief, and denial, forcing him to relive his trauma.
