One Piece: Why Shirahoshi Is The Key To The Final Saga

The Mermaid Princess of Fishman Island, Shirahoshi is an incredibly important character in One Piece. Fans have seen quite a lot of her over the years, specifically in the Fishman Island Arc. However, unlike many other characters who were only relevant in their arcs, Shirahoshi is a character who is going to be doubly special in the Final Saga of One Piece.

One Piece Magazine Sheds Light On Zoro And Sanji’s Special Bond

Fans always knew Sanji and Zoro had a special bond among the Straw Hat Pirates. The One Piece magazine sheds more light on this relationship.

In fact, Oda has already laid the groundwork for Shirahoshi to play a major role in the Final Saga, especially towards the end of it, and the Great War begins. She is an essential character and far more important than fans give her credit for.

Shirahoshi As Ancient Weapon Poseidon

Shirahoshi Holds The Power Of An Ancient Weapon

The most important thing about Shirahoshi is that she is the Ancient Weapon Poseidon. As fans know, in the world of One Piece, there are three Ancient Weapons that exist. The first one that fans found out about was Pluton, which is known to be a giant warship capable of vaporizing even an entire island with a single shot. The location of Pluton was recently revealed to be Wano and the Poneglyph that told its location was in the land of Arabasta.

Recently, fans also found out about another ancient weapon, called Uranus. Just like Pluton, this one is also named after a God. Uranus hasn’t been seen by the fans just yet, however, a glimpse of its power was given in the Egghead Island Arc. There, Imu utilized the power of Uranus, powered up by the Mother Flame, to wipe out an entire country in the blink of an eye. Lulusia, which is known to be Kingdom near Prodence, was completely wiped out using the power of Uranus, and a gaping hole was left in its stead. Clearly, the power of Uranus is absolutely incredible.

A name that Princess Shirahoshi will now inherit as her own…the Ancient Weapon, Poseidon!

Then, one comes to the final ancient weapon, named Poseidon. Unlike Uranus or Pluton, Poseidon is an actual living thing. In fact, Poseidon is the Mermaid Princess of Fishman Island. After every few hundred years, the Mermaid Princess is reborn. The last Mermaid Princess existed in the era of Joy boy. It is believed that Poseidon who existed back then had a very special relationship with Joy boy and these two most likely fought together as well. After the death of the Mermaid Princess, she eventually reincarnated as Shirahoshi, who fans know to be an incredibly important character, especially because of the power that she wields.

Shirahoshi showcased the ability to control Sea Kings like Poseidon at a very young age. However, back then, she had no control over her abilities. It was only in the Fishman Island Arc that Poseidon truly awakened. The power of Poseidon allows her to control all the Sea Kings and have them do what she wants. This might not seem like a big ability to the fans on the surface, however, it is one ability that can essentially destroy the entire world. In fact, Shirahoshi is up there with the strongest One Piece characters of all time, surpassing the strength of even the Yonko. She can essentially swallow up the entire planet with the help of the Sea Kings, and this makes her one of the most special individuals in the world of One Piece.

Shirahoshi Is A Sovereign Like Luffy

Shirahoshi Holds The Power Of A Sovereign

Shirahoshi’s importance in the Final Saga is quite easy for the fans to see. She is the Ancient Weapon Poseidon after all, and just by the virtue of being an Ancient Weapon, fans know that she is going to be extremely important in this part of the story. However, there are more things attached to her that make her special. For instance, Shirahoshi is prophesied to do great things in the future of the story and is directly tied to the One Piece as well. Back in the Oden flashback, fans found out quite a lot of stuff about the day the world will change. Essentially, when Roger found the One Piece, he realized that he had come too early. Someone else was supposed to come and this is something that the Sea Kings talked about as well.

The Sea Kings near Fishman Island clearly mentioned that there are going to be two sovereigns in two different seas.

One of them was Shirahoshi. The Sea Kings clearly mentioned that Shirahoshi would be born in 10 years. Then, another 15 years would be required for her to grow up. Another sovereign is Luffy, and fans know that he is essentially the same as Joy Boy. These two sovereigns are linked together and they will go on to change the fate of the entire world. This makes Shirahoshi doubly special in the Final Saga.

It is further said that one would appear in the future with the power to guide the mermaid princess. To show her the right and the correct way to use her ability.

If there ever was any doubt, then, one need not look further than Otohime’s statement about Poseidon. She clearly mentions that Poseidon has the ability to bring utter ruin to the entire world. However, that is only when the power falls in the wrong hands. It is said that an individual will come to guide Poseidon to use her power correctly, and of course, this individual is Luffy. Once again, this prophecy implies that Luffy and Shirahoshi will work together in the Great War to come and utilize the power of Poseidon in a specific manner to aid the alliance against the World Government and help the people of the world.

Why Shirahoshi Is Key To The Final Saga

Shirahoshi’s Power Can Save The World

Taking all things into consideration about Shirahoshi, it is quite easy for the fans to see that she is key to the Final Saga. To explain this a bit further, fans need to look at Vegapunk’s message, which announced a dire future for the world of One Piece. Essentially, with the rising water level, Vegapunk made a bold prediction that eventually, the world will go on to sink when the ancient weapons are fully awakened. When that happens, the world of One Piece is going to be in a state of utter chaos. Above all, usage of the Ancient Weapons will cause the sea levels to rise. One individual that can go on to control the sea is Shirahoshi. Essentially, while Shirahoshi can cause the world to sink as well, she can also save it.

She has the power over all the seas and oceans in the One Piece world, and with her ability, she can control the water levels as well, or one would presume, especially given that she’s an ancient weapon itself. With Luffy by her side, Shirahoshi can save the world from being swallowed up by the tides, especially if Ancient Weapons such as Pluton and Uranus are deployed and utilized in the war.

She is to be the balance, and without her, the war will most definitely be lost, even if Luffy is fighting in it. Shirahoshi will most definitely play the role of the savior of the world later down the line, and this is something that fans need to keep in mind, along with the fact that she is an individual who possesses the strength to surpass any Yonko or Marine Admiral in One Piece. Clearly, Oda has big things planned for this individual in the future, and fans cannot wait to see what she has to deliver.
