One Piece Chapter 1117: Vegapunk’s Message Ends
One Piece returned from its 2-week break earlier today and delivered an incredibly emphatic chapter. Fans were extremely excited to see the series return, and this time around, the excitement went through the roof because Oda tackled the final bits of Vegapunk’s message, and at the same time, some exciting events pertaining to the Five Elders as well.
As the arc continues, the escape of the Straw Hat Pirates becomes more and more likely, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what happens next in the story. This week’s chapter did incredibly well both in terms of providing fans with exciting combat, and at the same time, giving them enough material to terrorize over.
The World Reacts To Vegapunk’s Message
Vegapunk’s Message Sparks A New Adventure
With Vegapunk revealing quite exciting bits of information over the course of the last few chapters, fans knew that Oda would reveal more reactions from people all across the world. Oda used this opportunity to the absolute fullest as he showed fans the reactions of different people all over the world. Clearly, Oda was itching to draw characters that he left behind long ago, and he used this opportunity to reintroduce them under different settings in the story. For instance, in One Piece chapter 1117, fans got to see Don Krieg, Gin, and Pearl, all on the Pirate Island. What exactly they are doing there and how they even got there in the first place isn’t known. Clearly, they were not there when Garp attacked the island, which means that they arrived recently and it will be interesting to see what role they end up playing later down the line. It is also interesting to note that despite being destroyed in the Paradise half of the Grand Line at the beginning of the story, they are now in the New World, which means that they have significantly grown in terms of strength, and that is always a pleasure to see.
Ready for another dive? Now this stuff is full of dreams! – Cricket and the Saruyama Alliance
Meanwhile, others reacted to the news of the world being flooded with more enthusiasm. To some, it is now an adventure. Many want to go diving deep into the sea to find exciting bits of treasure here and there, and this is where Oda took the opportunity to reintroduce Montblanc Cricket and the Saruyama Alliance. This was incredibly exciting for the fans to see, and hopefully, at some point in the future of the story, fans will get another glimpse of them doing the things that they love.
While the pirates were busy being excited by Vegapunk’s message, the Marines took it as a challenge. They know that this is going to bring about another uprising, and the next generation has to be ready. Oda took this opportunity to focus on SWORD, which means that Koby, Kujaku, Prince Grus, Helmeppo, Drake, and even others like Smoker and Tashigi were under focus. Fans were delighted to see Smoker once again after around 13 years, and hopefully, he will be heavily involved in the story from here onwards.
The Straw Hat Pirates Prepare Their Escape
The Straw Hats Are Very Close To Leaving Egghead Island
On Egghead Island, fans once again got to see the pirates preparing for their escape. The ones in grave danger right now are the ones on the Labophase, and this was evident in this chapter as well. In One Piece chapter 1117, Nusjuro turned his eyes towards the ship of the Straw Hats, the Thousand Sunny, and attempted to completely destroy it using his sword. Thankfully for the Straw Hat Pirates, Zoro and Jinbe arrived right on time. They combined their strength to launch a powerful attack on Nusjuro. Jinbe picked up Zoro and used one of his Fishman Karate moves to throw him.
Jinbe gave him a massive boost in both speed and power. Zoro then utilized a new version of the Rashomon and attacked the Elder, although his attack was blocked effortlessly with just one hand. Still, the overwhelming force from the combined attack was such that Nusjuro was pushed back to an extent. Zoro, on the other hand, was sent flying back and Jinbe grabbed him.
Clearly, fans can see that Zoro and Jinbe will be busy trying to keep Nusjuro at bay and protect the ship of the crew. Meanwhile, the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates now have to focus on getting the ship off the island. Once it gets off, Zoro and Jinbe will most likely jump on, as he mentioned in the previous chapter. It will be interesting to see how Zoro and Jinbe pull this off. One thing that is evident here is that there will not be any extended combat between Zoro and Jinbe and the Elder, as there is absolutely no time to waste here. If they do end up staying behind, either they will be at risk, or they will risk the entire crew. As such, the only way is to escape at the best opportunity that they are presented with.
In the Fabriophase, Luffy finally made it to the meeting point near the coast, and that essentially means that the escape is now just around the corner. The Giants have already taken to the sea and are defending their flagship with all their might. Luffy and the crew are ready to set sail, and in the next chapter, fans will most likely see them try to get aboard the ship of the Giants and make their escape. Of course, the Navy did get their shining moments in this chapter as they tried to prevent the escape of the Giants. Vice Admiral Doll did admirably well, knocking down a Giant with her tremendous strength and Haki. Clearly, an escape won’t be easy from here, but given the strength of the crew, fans should expect them to breeze past the Vice Admirals.
The Five Elders Finish Their Job
The Five Elders Finally Stop The Broadcast Of Vegapunk’s Message
Quite easily the biggest part of One Piece chapter 1117 came towards the end, when the Five Elders finally located the transponder snail that was transmitting the signal, and attacked it. This was made possible thanks to York, and all the Elders had to do was take care of the Iron Giant. The responsibility for this was taken by none other than Warcury. Using his incredible brute strength, he was able to knock down the Iron Giant. This attack was so powerful that the transmission was interrupted and Vegapunk’s last bit of message, which was intended for those who carry the D in their name, couldn’t come out.
Lastly, I have one message for those scattered throughout the world who beat the name D. Within you, there is A…
What exactly Vegapunk wanted to say to them remains unknown, but it was clearly referring to someone among them. Now, fans will most likely get to see the Iron Giant being tackled by the Five Elders, and given their numbers, the survival of this Giant doesn’t look likely.
