𝐍𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲𝟐 starts filming later this summer, with Bob Odenkirk returning!

“NOBODY 2” is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 action thriller film “NOBODY.” The film once again stars Bob Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell, an unassuming suburban dad who hides a dangerous secret past as a skilled operative.

In the sequel, Hutch’s quiet life is disrupted when his estranged brother, played by returning cast member RZA, gets caught up in a deadly conflict with a powerful criminal organization. Hutch is forced to come out of retirement and utilize his lethal skills to rescue his brother and protect his family.

The film promises to deliver another thrilling and visceral action-packed story, with Odenkirk’s character pushing his abilities to the limit against formidable new foes. Directed once again by Ilya Nushinov, “NOBODY 2” looks to build upon the success of the first film, which was praised for its hard-hitting fight choreography and Odenkirk’s commanding central performance.

With higher stakes, more intense action sequences, and an expanded exploration of Hutch’s backstory, “NOBODY 2” is shaping up to be a must-see action movie event for fans of the original and newcomers alike. The film is scheduled for theatrical release in September 2024.

Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody 2 Filming Start Date Reportedly Revealed (& It’s Sooner Than Expected)

This article is part of a directory: Nobody 2: Release Date, Cast, Story & Everything We Know

Nobody 2‘s filming start date has reportedly been revealed, and the Bob Odenkirk sequel could be going to camera sooner than previously thought. Directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Derek Kolstad, Nobody was released in 2021, following Odenkirk’s seemingly normal family man, Hutch Mansell, as he is forced to use deadly skills from his past after a home invasion. The film was a hit, and Nobody 2 was subsequently confirmed with Odenkirk expected to return.

Now, Collider reports that Nobody 2 will start filming this August in Winnipeg, Manitoba, before wrapping production in October. This is sooner than was reported earlier this year, with the sequel previously expected to start filming in January 2025. Collider‘s report also claims that Niashuller will not be returning to direct the film, with a search currently underway for a replacement. Casting is said to be ongoing for Nobody 2, but Connie Nielsen is expected to return alongside Odenkirk.

What Nobody 2’s New Filming Report Means For The Film

When Could The Bob Odenkirk Sequel Release?

The first Nobody was also primarily filmed in Manitoba, so audiences can seemingly expect a similar setting for the sequel. The departure of Naishuller as director, however, could mean that the sequel may end up featuring a slightly different look and visual language compared to the first movie. Nobody 2 is expected to feature one major creative returning from the first movie, with Kolstad once again penning the script.

Nobody Ending & Post-Credits Scene Explained: How It Sets Up Nobody 2

Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody ends on an explosive note. Here’s everything that goes down in the movie’s finale, along with its mid-credits scene.

If Nobody 2 wraps filming in October, it’s likely that audiences can expect to see Odenkirk back in action as Hutch at some point in 2025. No official release date has been shared just yet, but it’s likely that one will be announced in the coming months if the film does indeed start production this summer. Assuming filming does wrap in October, the first promotional image for the movie could potentially arrive before the end of 2024.

Reviews for Nobody were generally positive, with critics praising Odenkirk’s committed action hero performance as Hutch. The film was one of a number of attempts to cash in on the John Wick action style, and, while it was generally successful, the sequel now has an opportunity to further establish the franchise’s identity, further separating it from being just “Wick lite.” It remains to be seen how Nobody 2 will compare to the original, but it’s certainly sounding like audiences can expect to see the sequel sooner rather than later.
