One Piece: Sanji’s Next Level After Ifrit Jambe, Explained

One Piece: Sanji’s Next Level After Ifrit Jambe, Explained

Sanji is one of the most beloved characters that fans have seen in One Piece and he is certainly a very important part of the Straw Hat Pirates. Sanji possesses tremendous strength, and while much of that is down to the incredible training that he has gone through over the years, Sanji has also acquired scientific powers more recently. This is simply down to the fact that he was experimented upon when he was in his mother’s womb, along with his other siblings.

Due to Judge’s experimentation, Sanji’s brothers were altered forever, while Sanji himself was saved by his mother’s drugs which worked to preserve his emotions. However, the effects of the genetic manipulation finally kicked in in the Wano Country arc, and Sanji was changed for the better. This scientific ability has since then become one of Sanji’s main powers, and fans will most definitely see more of it later down the line in One Piece.

Sanji’s Ifrit Jambe

Sanji Awakened The Powers Of Exoskeleton During Wano

When Sanji was fighting in Wano, he received quite a lot of exciting powers. For one, Sanji got the ability to manifest an exoskeleton. This happened somehow because of the Raid Suit that he ended up wearing several times in Wano. After the final time, Sanji realized that his body had somehow changed. It felt more stiff, and it was only after that that he realized that his body had started developing an exoskeleton. This exoskeleton made Sanji an incredibly powerful warrior of science who could essentially take out even the most dangerous of foes in combat effortlessly.

As fans know, Sanji had a resistance to flames from the very beginning of the series, and this resistance continued to grow later down the line, specifically around Enies Lobby. Sanji manifested flames over his legs, via a technique called Diable Jambe. With this powerful ability, Sanji was able to light himself up on fire and it was certainly lethal for his enemies. After the time skip, more specifically in the Wano Country arc, Sanji was able to improve upon this power of his. Sanji was essentially able to increase the heat of his flames tremendously, and that was made possible due to the power of genetic manipulation. Due to the exoskeleton that Sanji manifested, his body had now become much more durable.

It could sustain pressure from even the most dangerous types of attacks that could essentially kill normal people and still be fine. This exoskeleton also gave him the ability to sustain hotter flames on his feet. Sanji also incorporated his Color of Armament with this exoskeleton and developed a high enough resistance to extra-hot flames. This is precisely why Sanji could manifest Ifrit Jambe. These Flames are much stronger than the ones he could manifest before, and they burn much hotter, as is implied by the bluish-white color, which would suggest an incredibly high temperature. Even more so than that, it could also generate electricity with everything, and together, these two powers fry his enemies from the inside.

Can Sanji Go Beyond Ifrit Jambe?

Sanji Can Potentially Get Even Stronger With Hotter Flames

Fans might be wondering whether Sanji can actually go beyond Ifrit Jambe or if this is his peak as a fighter. Clearly, none of the Strawhats have reached their peak. Even Luffy, who claims Gear 5 to be his peak, can still grow stronger in many ways, such as improving his control over haki, and maximizing the efficiency of his usage of Gear Five. As such, the same can be said for the likes of Zoro and Sanji as well. Both of these individuals can still get better in terms of what they can achieve and there should be absolutely no reason for Sanji to not go beyond Ifrit Jambe in the Final Saga of One Piece. As for how Sanji could go beyond this, fans already know that Oda has provided a pathway. Here is what he had to say about Sanji’s future in One Piece:

“D: I have a question, in Chapter 1031 of Volume 102 Sanji’s eyebrows were reversed, but in Chapter 1044 of Volume 103 they returned back to normal. Why did they change back to normal? P.N. Rooftop

O: You noticed it well~. His eyebrows have definitely changed. Going back to the Whole Cake Island Arc, all of Sanji’s brothers and sister have had superhuman qualities and strong skin called “Exoskeleton” since they were born due to “Lineage Factor Manipulation”. However, only Sanji was born as a normal human due to his mother’s resistance. Look at his brothers and sister’s eyebrows.

Everyone has “66” like Yonji. Sanji is the exact opposite. That was the battle where “the power of science” was manifested in the wake of the raid suit! Sanji originally had an abnormal resistance to “flame”. It was strange. Let’s keep watching.”

Clearly, fans can tell that Oda wants Sanji to go beyond his current levels of strength. He knows that Sanji is very powerful, but at the same time, he also knows that he can get even stronger. The last bit of the statement where Oda says to keep an eye on Sanji for future developments is very intriguing as it simply tells the fans that he has something else in store for him. Furthermore, the truth around Sanji’s genetic powers has not been explained properly just yet, which means that a lot more is to come in the future.

Sanji’s Next Step After Ifrit Jambe

Sanji Can Develop New Flames In The Final Saga

Right now, Sanji only has access to Ifrit Jambe, but he can definitely take his flames beyond that. This could happen when Sanji develops an even stronger body. For instance, fans know that science is one of the major powers in the One Piece world. Devil Fruits offer great powers, as does Haki. But, science is criminally underrated and, as seen recently, can actually be the greatest power in the entire series. Sanji is an anchor for Oda to showcase the power of science and that is most definitely going to be the case in the Final Saga as well. As such, fans should fully expect Sanji to develop even further. Sanji has been compared to the Seraphims themselves, and given that Seraphims are the strongest of humanity, or are supposed to be once they are fully mature, as explained by Vegapunk himself, Sanji can actually reach similar levels or go beyond.

This essentially means that when Sanji is fully mature, his exoskeleton might get even stronger and he might develop something akin to a lunarian. If that truly is the case, then Sanji can also incorporate even stronger Haki with his attacks and develop an even stronger version of his flames, and at that point, his flames are either going to be white, or perhaps they’ll take a completely different color, such as black. Either way, what fans need to keep in mind is that Sanji can’t still grow even further in the Final Saga and Oda has himself provided a pathway for him to attain greater power beyond Ifrit Jambe.
