One Piece Officially Teases a Big Development For Zoro That Will Fix His Disappointing Wano Arc

One Piece has just teased a big potential development for Zoro, and it could finally fix his disappointing Wano Arc. Given Zoro’s hinted connection to Ryuma, many hoped that the Wano Arc would be Zoro’s big arc, much like Whole Cake Island was for Sanji, but were inevitably let down. However, One Piece‘s latest vivre cards tease that there may still be hope for Zoro to get the dedicated arc he deserves.

Despite seemingly using Conqueror’s Haki against King at Onigashima, the latest One Piece vivre cards as posted on X by @pewpiece, have been quite vague about whether Zoro truly has Conqueror’s Haki or not. This has led many fans to assume that perhaps the haki Zoro was using was Enma’s or rather that of the blade’s previous user, Kozuki Oden.

However, a much more probable explanation may be that Zoro has simply just begun to unlock his latent Conqueror’s Haki and is yet to master consciously channeling it. This implies that Zoro may still have a big final power-up ahead along with an arc that at least somewhat focuses on Zoro’s character to make up for Wano.

One Piece’s Vivre Cards Tease Zoro Has Yet to Master Conqueror’s Haki

Zoro Has Visibly Used Conqueror’s Haki Many Times in Wano After Getting Enma

Despite Zoro having clearly used Conqueror’s Haki on multiple occasions throughout the Wano Arc, the updated vivre cards included in Volume #109 of One Piece have been inexplicably vague on the matter. As the black sparks pointed out in the vivre card indicate, Zoro has quite visibly used Conqueror’s Haki, and his use of it has also been acknowledged by others. The first instance of this was back in chapter #1010 when Zoro attacked Kaido with his Asura: Blades Drawn Dead Man’s Game technique. Kaido then noted that the attack had also been infused with Conqueror’s Haki, though Zoro was completely oblivious to the fact.

Later, during the battle against King in chapter #1033, Zoro again uses Conqueror’s Haki to knock out the other enemies in the vicinity. It is here that King also notes Zoro’s use of Conqueror’s Haki, asking Zoro whether he intends to be a king. The rest of the battle from here on out, especially chapter #1035, sees Zoro use all three of his swords imbued with Conqueror’s Haki, which until now looked like something he was consciously doing.

However, it may be that Enma, which is said to draw out its user’s Armament Haki, is also doing so with Zoro’s Conqueror’s Haki, unbeknownst to his knowledge. Save for an anime-exclusive scene in episode #984, Zoro does not use Conqueror’s Haki in the series until he gets Enma. If so, Zoro may still be oblivious to the fact that the ability he is using is in fact Conqueror’s Haki.

Having said that, tt does make sense for Zoro to unlock the latent power through Enma as many of the strongest characters in One Piece like Roger, Whitebeard, and Kaido, have notably channeled their Conqueror’s Haki through their weapons. If so, One Piece‘s vivre cards may only acknowledge Zoro’s Conqueror’s Haki once he has done so himself and has actively learned to use it.

Zoro May Still Have One Dedicated Story Arc Ahead of One Piece’s Finale

One Piece‘s Final Saga May Have Time To Give Zoro Attention

With One Piece officially in its Final Saga of the story, there are certainly very few chances to explore Zoro’s abilities. That said, the Egghead Arc has proved such an arc may be a necessity. Saint V. Nusjuro has finally been confirmed to possess a supreme-grade sword and appears to be one of the most powerful sword wielders in One Piece, establishing him as one of Zoro’s final opponents in the series. However, as things stand, it is doubtful whether Zoro can go against Saint Nusjuro as he is at present unless he masters consciously using Conqueror’s Haki to match the powerful haki of the Five Elders.

Mastering Conqueror’s Haki may also give Zoro the edge against Mihawk, who, so far, hasn’t displayed the ability to use Conqueror’s Haki. Zoro’s dream of becoming the greatest swordsman hinges on defeating both Mihawk and Saint Nusjuro, and he definitely needs to get much stronger to do so, just as Luffy still needs to find a way to defeat the Five Elders.

An arc dedicated to Zoro’s character may finally give him the focus he hasn’t had since the East Blue Saga while also providing a chance to explore Zoro’s parentage and origins, which were only revealed in the SBS section of One Piece and are yet to find a way into the series. While fans have collectively agreed there may not be many more arcs left, One Piece has always had a knack for the unexpected, and the Final Saga may just find a way to squeeze in an extra arc or two before the final stretch of the race to Laugh Tale.
