Fans have always known Shanks to be an individual who functions solely. He has never had any family that they know of, and the only people close to him are members of his pirate crew. Fans know that Shanks is from the West Blue, however, beyond that, they have never known anything about his family. For the vast majority of the series, fans did not know if Shanks had parents, or any siblings. However, with One Piece Film Red, more clues about Shanks’s lineage started being revealed. It was first hinted in this film that Shanks belonged to the Figarland Family. This was a major shock for the fans, as it was essentially confirmed that Shanks was from the lineage of Celestial Dragons. This makes Shanks one of the former Celestial Dragons as well, and this was further backed up in the manga much later down the line, when Oda revealed interesting bits of information surrounding this particular family.

Watch closely, children!! – Saint Garling Figarland

In the Final Saga, fans even got to see other members of the Figarland Family. On God Valley, where the Native Hunting Games took place 38 years ago, St Garling Figarland was revealed to be the Champion. Saint Garling looks exactly like Shanks, and this has led fans to believe that he is Shanks’s very own father. It’s safe to say that this is a very good assumption, and it is highly likely a correct one as well.

More importantly, there is a hint in the story for Shanks having siblings as well. This was first hinted at in the very same flashback where Saint Garling was revealed in his younger days. During the time of the Native Hunting Games on God Valley, Saint Garling had his children present there as well. He clearly asked his children to watch him closely, as he wanted this to be a lesson for them. Of course, fans don’t know if Garling had two children, or if they were more. What fans know, however, is that there are at least two, and that Shanks has siblings of his own that fans have not seen just yet.

Given the fact that Oda clearly states in the story that Shanks has siblings, fans have opened their eyes and are keenly looking for who this person could be. Given that Saint Garling accidentally gave away Shanks, he likely has not repeated this mistake with the other children. For those who do not know, Shanks was found by the Roger Pirates on God Valley. This means that during all the commotion that was caused on God Valley, Garling was separated from Shanks, and this baby ended up in a treasure chest, which the Roger Pirates carried to their ship unknowingly. Later down the line, they found out that it had a baby, and Roger then decided to take care of Shanks forever.

More importantly, fans know that Garling Figarland had more than just one child on God Valley. The others likely managed to stay with him, and they are currently under him directly. Saint Garling works for the God’s Knights, and he is the supreme commander of this group of people. As such, it is likely that his potential son is going to be a member of the God’s Knights as well, and fans will very likely see him soon enough in the story. In fact, One Piece chapter 1121 might have already given fans a glimpse of this curious individual. On the very last page of the chapter, Oda highlighted the key individuals in the Final Saga of One Piece.

These individuals were clearly shown to be the Yonko, some members of the Marines, such as Akainu and Koby, some Revolutionaries, such as Dragon and Sabo, Saint Garling Figarland, Imu, and, of course, this mysterious individual with the sword. This individual was carefully placed in the Government section and his sword resembles a saber, which is also carried by Garling Figarland, and at the same time, Shanks. Even the facial structure matches Shanks quite a bit, and this clearly looks like someone related to him. Fans might have found Shanks’s brother, and hopefully, they will find out more details about this individual later down the line in One Piece.

Shanks’s Brother Could Be Due An Appearance In One Piece

As was stated above, One Piece chapter 1121 has highlighted this mysterious individual who looks like Shanks and carries a weapon similar to Garling Figarland. This isn’t the only instance when fans saw this figure. When Dragon spoke of the God’s Knights, fans got to see a silhouette of the members of this organization, and the one in the middle was clearly someone just like Shanks. He even wore a cape similar to the Yonko, and carried a saber just like him. Clearly, this is the same person that fans saw in One Piece chapter 1121, and the idea that Shanks has a brother is not a far-fetched one at all.

This is very exciting for the fans for more than just one reason. For one, fans know that this individual is going to be very exciting and at the very same time, incredibly powerful. Fans are going to see exciting combats surrounding this powerful individual very soon in the Final Saga One Piece. However, that certainly is not all. This character is also going to add an exciting dynamic to Shanks’s very own family, which Oda will be focusing on soon enough. Shanks was always going to be one of the highlights of the Final Saga of One Piece, and now that the story is here, it is going to be incredibly exciting to see how Oda crafts a story around this beloved character.
