Bayern Munich superstar Jamal Musiala showed the world why he is one of the best footballers at any age or position this past summer with a strong Euro 2024 to follow up another excellent Bundesliga and Champions League campaign for Die Roten.
Jamal Musiala is worried about Bayern’s competitiveness
Per BILD’s Christian Falk for Caught Offside, Musiala will be concerned about Bayern’s ability to compete for the Champions League title every year if they lose these kinds of top players.
Musiala wants to be a centerpiece player for a team of this level, just like his close friend and England international Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid; Bellingham won the Champions League in his first season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Manchester City need to replace Kevin De Bruyne
Although Real Madrid have been linked to Musiala, too, Falk discusses Manchester City as the destination to watch for the German No. 10, as he could replace legendary Belgian Kevin De Bruyne.
De Bruyne is still one of the best in the Premier League, but at the age of 33, Man City need to start thinking about replacing him for the long term. With Julian Alvarez interested in an exit this summer, City could have an opening.
Jamal Musiala will likely wait a year to decide his future
Musiala likely wouldn’t make a drastic decision on his Bayern future until after the first season under Vincent Kompany, by which the futures of Kimmich, Davies, and other star players like Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry will become clearer.
It has always seemed difficult to envision a player of Musiala caliber leaving a club of Bayern’s stature every time soon, but perhaps the recent turmoil has caused Bayern’s stature to fall despite another appearance in the Champions League semifinals.
