One Piece: How Elbaf Could Be Luffy’s Next Training Arc

One Piece is well and truly into its Final Saga, and the series is only going to get better from here onwards.

Oda has previously mentioned that this is the part of the story that he is most excited about drawing in OP and now, the time is here for him to showcase his true peak as a writer. Given that Elbaf is an extremely exciting arc which was set up in the story decades ago, fans have incredibly high expectations from it.

Of course, the Elbaf Arc is going to be fulfilling many goals at the same time. However, one of the biggest goals that this arc is going to meet is ensuring that Luffy gets even stronger. While Luffy truly is at the peak of his Devil Fruit powers right now, there is still room for improvement, which means that Elbaf could serve as a training arc for Luffy in many ways.

Luffy’s Status Of Yonko And What It Means For His Strength

Luffy Became A Yonko After The Onigashima War

After the Wano Country Arc, Luffy has leveled up tremendously in terms of power. It can be said that Luffy is among the strongest pirates in the world of One Piece already, with only a handful strong enough to actually go on to rival him in combat. Luffy’s strength is absolutely majestic, and the fact that he has an incredibly overpowered Devil Fruit that allows him to bring his imagination to reality means that there are no limits to how strong he can truly get. Similarly, Luffy has also got access to incredibly overpowered Haki. His Haki is so powerful that apart from the Yonko and those in a similar tier of strength, none can stand in his way. These two combine to make Luffy a very strong pirate. However, as was seen in the Egghead Island Arc, this isn’t enough for Luffy to topple the World Government and liberate those who are in misery.

Luffy still needs to grow tremendously in terms of strength and skill, and that is precisely why he must get even stronger. In other words, one can say that it is expected of Luffy to surpass even the Yonko of the One Piece world and that only after he manages to do that will he truly be fit to bear the burden of Joy Boy and the Ancient Kingdom, and liberate the world properly.

Now, this certainly does not mean that Luffy is not worthy of fulfilling the Will of D at this point in time. He certainly is plenty powerful and there is absolutely no denying that. Luffy might even beat some elites of the World Government, such as the Elders. However, it was clear for the fans to see previously that Luffy’s strength, especially in terms of his Haki, needs to be higher if he is to do what Joy Boy couldn’t.

Luffy’s Training In Elbaf Will See Him Get Even Stronger As A Pirate

Luffy Will Boost His Conqueror’s Haki Further

Elbaf is going to be the arc where Luffy has to prove himself to the likes of Shanks and many other powerful individuals. It must be noted that this place is called the Warland. After all, any place bearing this name indicates that only the strongest live and survive there, and for Luffy to be able to continue on his journey, he must be strong enough to earn the praise of those in Elbaf, and at the same time, prove himself a worthy fighter.

But, at the same time, fans also know that Luffy is someone who picks up lessons along the way. He is strong, but he is not the strongest, and anything that Luffy can pick up from someone else in the story is something that will help him reach an even higher level of strength. This is why Elbaf is going to be a training arc for Luffy. Now, this doesn’t mean that Luffy will be trained by someone. This simply means that Luffy will be intuitive enough in the battles that he fights in Elbaf to grow even further in terms of strength and reach a new tier entirely. In this manner, one can say that Elbaf will have plenty of characters for Luffy to learn from.

Was that Haki even greater than that of Red Hair’s? – Dorry and Brogy

One particular character is Shanks. In terms of Haki, other than possibly the likes of Roger and Joy Boy, both of whom are dead, Shanks is the greatest. Luffy’s Haki is strong, but it certainly is not on the same level as that of Joy Boy. Essentially, when Luffy fights Shanks, which is likely to happen in the arc, he will truly find out what it means to wield powerful Haki and how to take it to the next level.

Using his newfound Haki, he will get even stronger, and this will aid him directly. This is because, in the final segment of the Egghead Island Arc, it was clear for the fans to see that Haki is essentially the weakness of the Elders and, with them, Imu as well. Luffy certainly does possess powerful Haki, but it is not powerful enough to defeat them right now. Luffy’s Haki needs more growth, and it needs to reach a similar level to that of Joy Boy. This is where Shanks comes in, and he will most definitely help him improve his Haki even further.

Luffy’s Next Level Of Power In One Piece

Luffy Will Become A Master Of Haki And Devil Fruit

Essentially, once Luffy takes his Haki to the next level, he will be the undisputed strongest in the series. Fans already know that in terms of Devil Fruit powers, few can rival Luffy. He’s already one of the strongest characters when it comes to devil fruit abilities, and the only limitation that he truly has is his imagination. Luffy’s peak with Gear 5 is immense. When it comes to his Haki, it could still take some work. Once he masters Haki as well and is able to surpass Shanks, Luffy will be the undisputed strongest character alive in One Piece, and then, he will be ready to do what Joy Boy couldn’t and become the one to carry out the Will of D.

Come the end of the series, Luffy will most likely have surpassed even Joy Boy and become the strongest of all time. Of course, Luffy’s goal isn’t to become the strongest. However, to become the freest of all, Luffy has to acquire wealth, fame, and power. In terms of power specifically, Luffy has to be strong enough to defend his own freedom and the freedom of the ones he loves, and this requires him to be at the top of the era.

Hopefully, the growth that Luffy shows in the upcoming few chapters of One Piece is going to be exciting for him, and the lessons that he learns along the way will lead to him reaching a similar level of strength to Joy Boy.
