One Piece: The Roles Of The Navy Admirals In The Final Saga, Explained

One Piece continues its Final Saga and it is safe to say that fans are thoroughly enjoying the developments that Oda is showing in his story.

This is the saga that Oda has been most excited to draw in all of One Piece, and that also explains why this part of the story feels like a ride every week. Since the Egghead Island arc marked only the beginning of the Final Saga, the intensity wasn’t as high, even though a significant number of fans claim it to be the best arc already. But, this arc was only an appetizer, and the actual best is yet to come.

The world of One Piece is going to be in a state of turmoil soon enough, which means all the major parties are going to be making a massive move soon. This includes the likes of the Revolutionary Army, the Yonko, and of course, the Marines as well. From within the Marines, the Admirals are the strongest and the most influential characters, which means that their role in the final saga of One Piece is going to be absolutely massive.

The Marines In The Egghead Island Arc Played A Significant Role

Kizaru Arrived on Egghead Island

Vice Admiral Fought With The Biggest Fleet

Fans saw the Marines take part in the Egghead Island Arc of One Piece, and it is safe to say that they laid a solid impression there. From the Admirals, Kizaru was actively seen in the arc, and he certainly impressed with his actions. When Kizaru arrived on Egghead, his goal was to eradicate Vegapunk, his satellites, and at the same time, killing Luffy and the pirates as well. While this was a bit too much to ask of him, the results that he delivered were still impressive. Even though he ended up losing to him, Kizaru’s performance against Luffy was decent, and more importantly, he succeeded in his goal of killing Vegapunk.

Hey, Sakazuki! Tell me, have you ever killed your best friend? – Kizaru

To the surprise of the fans, Kizaru also got an exciting character arc in Egghead, where fans got to see his past with Vegapunk, and the turmoil on the inside that was caused by killing his best friend. Of course, this also just showed Kizaru’s choice of duty over his friend. Regardless, fans did enjoy this segment with the Marine Admiral, and it is safe to say that he delivered an emphatic performance on Egghead, and right up until the very end, he remained a worthy villain who moved the fans, and at the same time, fulfilled his duty.

The other Marine Admirals haven’t made a move in the Final Saga. Kizaru is the only one that Oda has explored so far, which means the likes of Ryokugyu and Fujitora remain on the sidelines. There is also the case of the Fleet Admiral to consider, and fans also want to see Sakazuki in action at some point.

The Upcoming Two Wars For The Navy In The Final Saga

The Navy Will Fight Major Wars Soon Enough

Given that the Final Saga is only going to go higher in terms of intensity, fans know for a fact that the Admirals are going to be involved in the upcoming arcs as well. This essentially means that the Elbaf Arc of One Piece will see the Admirals get involved too, and at the same time, it will also see other Marines, such as the old generation of Admirals, like Sengoku, and, at the same time, potential legends such as Garp, be involved as well. Right now, the Navy has a big responsibility on their shoulders, and that is to fight major wars on multiple fronts. More specifically, there are two wars for the Navy to fight right now and both of them are going to be difficult for them.

You guys are all the future of the Navy! – Garp

The War Against Blackbeard Pirates

The very first war that the Navy is going to be fighting in the Final Saga is against the Blackbeard Pirates. In this war, the fans will likely get to see some Admirals being deployed. As to why the Marines will fight the Blackbeard Pirates, the reason is simple. Garp has recently been captured by the Blackbeard Pirates on the Pirate Island.

Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the Marines have to fight. But, Blackbeard’s strategy is clear. He wants to trade the Hero of the Navy for country status for Hachinosu. The World Government will never hand over a whole country to a pirate, which is why they have no choice but to fight. This means that the negotiations between them will fail, and the Pirates Island will come under attack, especially because Garp is the symbol of the Marines, and letting him get captured is like running their name through the dirt for the Navy.

This is precisely why a war against the Blackbeard Pirates is inevitable, and this war is likely going to be led by Sengoku, given that he is Garp’s closest friend. Along with him, fans could see other Admirals take part in this battle as well. The most likely Marine who fans will see on Hachinosu is Fujitora. It is possible that Smoker will be with him as well, and this will make for an incredibly exciting battle against a very powerful unit that fans have wanted to see since long.

The War Against The Cross Guild

Another word that the Marines are going to be fighting is against the Cross Guild. This war is a no-brainer as well. Fans know for a fact that the Marines are in a very precarious situation because of the Cross Guild. It was recently announced in One Piece that the Cross Guild have started placing bounties on Navy heads. This means the Marines are hunted just like Pirates. In fact, Vice Admiral T-Bone was caught up in the midst of all this and became a victim, losing his life in the process.

The Marines cannot sustain this for long, and at some point, they have to act. This is precisely why now is the time for the Marines to go after the Cross Guild, and take the battle to them. This means a war between Bugg’s Cross Guild and the Navy is going to ensue very soon, and it is certainly going to light up the manga more than ever before. The likes of Buggy, Crocodile, and Mihawk, are going to be up against major powerful units, and potentially Admiral Greenbull, among others. Greenbull will get his chance to shine here, and perhaps, he is going to fight against none other than Dracule Mihawk himself.

Both of these wars are going to be absolutely massive for the Marines, and the Admirals are certainly going to be central to them. The Admirals have a key role to play here. If Fujitora and Sengoku head to the Pirates Island, they have no choice but to win, and with their strength, fans should expect total victory. Similarly, the Navy has no choice but to destroy the Cross Guild as well, but, things are going to be a bit more complicated here, depending on who is sent to deal with them, and at the same time, the Cross Guild’s growing powerful individuals. Then, there is also the Great War to consider, which will most likely see all the Admirals take part in some way or form, with some even going against the World Government, like Fujitora himself.
