The Next One Piece Episode Will Reveal The Truth About Cobra’s Murder

One of the longest-standing mysteries in One Piece is that of Nefertari Cobra’s murder.

The news about Cobra’s death was revealed hundreds of chapters ago. It shocked fans to their very core, as they couldn’t quite believe that someone of Cobra’s stature was killed and that too during the Reverie in Marijoa.

Even in normal circumstances, it is extremely difficult to break into Marijoa. Considering the Reverie was ongoing, the security would have been greater than usual, making an already difficult task impossible. This left fans with a plethora of questions, but it won’t be long before fans learn the answer to all of them.

What Happened In Marijoa During The Reverie

The most recent Reverie was rather eventful. From Cobra’s murder to the attack of the Revolutionaries, there were many talking points. The World Government did its best to stop any major news from leaking out, and anything that couldn’t prevent it from circulating was manipulated. In One Piece Episode 1117, Sabo disclosed the details of the Revolutionary Army’s plan in Marijoa. The organization had three goals:

  • Destroying the storehouses filled with food for the Celestial Dragons
  • Saving Bartholomew Kuma and any other slaves captured by the Celestial Dragons
  • Demolition of the symbol of the Celestial Dragons as a declaration of war

How Successful Was The Attempt

Even if Sabo and his fellow Commanders managed to accomplish just one of the three objectives, it would still be considered a successful endeavor. However, they were able to achieve all three goals. The destruction of the storehouses was a big blow to the Celestial Dragons, as it left them without any food supplies. It caused a great deal of panic among the populace, as they were aware of the problems it would cause for them.

The Revolutionary Army quickly moved on to other things after destroying the stores. They began their rescue of Bartholomew Kuma and other slaves present in Marijoa. Lindbergh used his weapon to destroy the chains that held the slaves. However, the Admirals caught a whiff of their presence, and they wasted no time in attacking them. Fujitora was engaged in a skirmish with Karasu while Morley locked horns with Ryokugyu. The arrival of the Admirals meant that the Revolutionaries had to make haste and get out.

The destruction of the symbol of the Celestial Dragons was another big blow to them. Its destruction showed the fearlessness of the Revolutionary Army, and it would help them gain more support around the world.

The Truth Behind Cobra’s Death

Morley, Karasu, and Lindbergh left for the Kamabakka Kingdom after completing their mission, but Sabo stayed behind. It is unclear why Sabo decided against going back with his companions. This decision backfired, as he was eventually blamed for the murder of Nefertari Cobra. In the latest episode, it was revealed that Cobra went to meet the Five Elders. This means that Sabo would have to go inside the same room and kill Cobra, which seems rather outlandish. Sabo had no reason to murder Cobra, as the Revolutionary Army is only against tyrants. Sabo wouldn’t kill a ruler as loved as Cobra.

Sabo is in the clear, making the Five Elders the guilty party. They are known for committing all sorts of atrocities in the past, so it wouldn’t be extraordinary for them to do something similar. However, the question is what prompted them to do such a thing.

Seeing Imu For The First Time

The Ruler Of The World Appears Before Cobra

In the preview for Episode 1118, the Empty Throne was shown, and something related to it left Cobra flummoxed. This can only mean that Cobra caught a glimpse of Imu, who is the true sovereign of the world. For ages, Imu’s identity has been concealed by the World Government. If someone other than the Five Elders were to learn about their existence, they would be in big trouble.

I finally get to meet the Five Elders. —Nefertari Cobra

If Imu appeared in front of Cobra, the latter was bound to die. The Five Elders would never risk the secret of Imu’s existence being leaked. Additionally, Cobra might have also learned about other forbidden things, which only made the decision easier. As it stands, Cobra’s reasoning behind his decision to visit the Five Elders in the first place is unclear. The answer to this question and many others will be revealed in Episode 1118 of One Piece.

What Can One Piece Fans Expect

Aside from Cobra’s interaction with the Five Elders, the next One Piece episode will also cover the other events taking place in Marijoa. Fans can expect to see Leo and Don Sai getting involved in an altercation with the Celestial Dragons.

From the preview, it seems that Charlos is persistent about enslaving Shirahoshi, the princess of the Ryugu Kingdom. If they attack Charlos, they will earn the wrath of the Celestial Dragons and the World Government. However, Leo and Sai are free-spirited, and they won’t let such an injustice happen before their eyes.
