However, the recent developments in One Piece have made it so that Saint Garling Figarland remains to be the only Elder with unknown abilities.

Curiously enough, this would not have been an issue until much more recently in the story, and that is because Saint Garling Figarland was not an elder until One Piece chapter 1125. Now that he has ascended in terms of rank and authority, fans are keen to see what abilities he holds, and whether or not he’s truly going to live up to the status of a powerful Elder.

St Garling Figarland was introduced to the fans in the Egghead Arc of One Piece. In this story arc, he was first introduced as one of the members of the God’s Knights, specifically its Supreme Commander, meaning that he held the reins in his hands. When Saint Mjosgard committed the crime of hitting another Elder in order to save a lowly human in the eyes of the Celestial Dragons, he was executed and the one to pass the sentence on him was none other than Garling Figarland. This was clearly an indication of the fact that even among the celestial dragons, he was exalted and that his authority and power fell above that of a regular celestial dragon, but below that of an Elder. Fans did not get to see much of Saint Garling Figarland after that event, however, a glimpse of his former self was provided in a flashback.

When Kuma’s life was shown to the fans, there, a younger version of Saint Garling was also revealed, and it was quite easy for the fans to see that he looked just like Shanks. He was declared as the Champion of God Valley and, there, he made a name for himself, such that even to this day, he is known to be a Champion who made history. He most likely collided with powerful Pirates back in the day, and that just goes to show that his level of strength is incredibly high.

Regardless, coming back to the topic of Saint Garling’s ascension to the rank of the Five Elders, fans know that this process was gradual. While Garling Figarland did not really do much in the Egghead Arc, towards the end, Saint Saturn was executed for his failures. Essentially, Saturn was the one sent to Egghead, and it was because of him that Luffy managed to get away, and, along with him, Bonney and Kuma did as well. It was also because of his failure that Vegapunk’s message was allowed to get out, and, for all these crimes, Imu essentially executed Saturn, taking away his immortality from him.

With the death of Saint Saturn, fans knew that the numbers of the Elders would dwindle, and the Four Elders simply just doesn’t have the same ring to it. Essentially, this was a clear indication of the fact that a new member of the Five Elders was soon going to be chosen in One Piece, and that is precisely what ended up happening.

In One Piece chapter 1125, it was clear for the fans to see that Garling had changed into the attire of an Elder and walked into the Room of Authority, which is commonly reserved for the Elders. As soon as he walked in, the Elders were perplexed as to why he was there. However, it was then revealed that Saint Garling had now been made a member of the Elders, having been given authority to be the Godhead of Science and Defense. He was also put in charge of York, which means that the project of Motherflame production is directly under him.

It is clear for the fans to see that Saint Garling is going to be incredibly powerful. That is precisely why fans want to know what ability he holds as well. Now, it is not absolutely necessary for Saint Garling to hold an ability.

After all, there are plenty of non-ability fighters in One Piecewho mostly rely on Haki. Fans can be sure that Saint Garling possesses tremendous Haki. However, he most likely also has access to a powerful devil fruit ability.

However, these two were not the only devil fruits present there, and this was indicated by the multitude of treasure boxes. It is highly likely that since Garling was the champion of God Valley, he won one of the powerful devil fruits, and ended up gaining an incredible ability.

Which Ability Would Saint Garling Have?

Saint Garling Could Have Any Power, But Fans Would Love Variation

Fans don’t know what devil fruit ability Garling would have. Oda can essentially play this in two ways. The first way is to give Garling the same ability, just like the rest of the Elders. Fans know that all the other Elders are Yokai. As such, it would make sense for Garling to be a Yokai as well. However, that wouldn’t automatically make sense if Garling already ate a Devil Fruit during the God Valley Incident. If that were to truly be the case, then Garling’s ability could be different. Fans could see him wield one of the powerful Logias, or, a strong Paramecia. The best idea for Garling’s Devil Fruit would be a powerful awakened Logia, as this is the class that fans want to see most in One Piece. This would also make him very unique, allowing him to stand above the rest and, at the same time, make him more interesting.
