Actor Somy Ali expressed her disbelief and disappointment, stating she feels “shell shocked” after an encounter with a prominent figure she held in high regard. She remarked that she “didn’t expect him to stoop down to a sewage level.”
Somy, who is known for her past relationship with Salman Khan, has accused singer Sonu Nigam of utilizing her talk show as a platform to lash out at her former partner. In a detailed Instagram video, Somy recounted a situation where, after the show aired, she attempted to discuss a work “opportunity” for Sonu in London. However, he chose to ignore her outreach. Although she did not explicitly name him in the video, she revealed his identity in the post’s caption. She also mentioned that the interview took place two years ago. In her video, Somy shared, “A couple of years ago, I started a talk show. I interviewed a few people, and one participant spoke very intelligently and shared a wealth of wisdom. I was genuinely in awe of his insights. I believed wholeheartedly that he stood by his beliefs. However, when I reached out to him later to offer a project in London, he completely dismissed my messages.”
Somy noted that Sonu didn’t request any payment for his appearance on the show, highlighting that they were just starting out and did not have a budget for guests. “I realized later,” she continued, “that this respectable individual had a hidden agenda. His intention was to make a statement to my former partner that he was featured on my show.”
She recounted her attempts to communicate with Sonu regarding the potential opportunity, stating, “I reached out multiple times, but he consistently ignored my messages. I even sent voice notes in various languages, but this person chose not to engage.”
Somy addressed her feelings of betrayal, calling Sonu a “chameleon,” someone who changes their colors depending on the situation. She reflected on the lesson learned from this interaction: “It’s shocking how a person you once admired can turn out to be so different.”
Pointing out Sonu’s behavior in her post, she stated, “This is what people are and how they take advantage of you. @sonunigamofficial. I am shell shocked, and that would be an understatement. I held this person in high regard. People should be cautious when judging someone based only on their outward persona!”
She concluded her reflection by noting, “This man who misled me is Sonu Nigam. It’s vital to be wary of individuals like him, who often present themselves as victims when, in reality, they are manipulative. Though I still enjoy his music, I never anticipated he would descend to this level,” she remarked.
