Daring models strip to nothing but duct tape for saucy New York Fashion Week show

New York Fashion Week is back – and so are the stunning models that are only covered by teeny strips of duct tape.

That’s right, even if you aren’t an avid style-fan, you’ll most likely have heard of the Black Tape Project. And if you’ve been living in outer space all this time, then let us fill you in.

The Black Tape Project puts on a rather racy affair at the bi-annual fashion event that sees some of the most established designers around the world present their work.

While the self-proclaimed “King of Tape” Joel Alvarez might not be no couture big-wig, he certainly knows how to turn heads and make headlines with the ‘clothing’ that just about maintains an ounce of modesty.

His designs include strips of black duct tape that are carefully positioned on models boobs, bums, thighs and crotch area to create some rather racy looks.

The Miami-born designer is a first-generation Cuban American that considers himself to be the “world’s only body tape expert, founder and pioneer of the Body Tape Art Genre.”

He says that his designs accentuate the female form by revealing skin and contouring their body parts. Well, he would say that wouldn’t he – how does he justify his creep weird creations.

But there’s no questions the strategically placed duct tape creates interesting shapes that are certain head-turners on the runway.

Joel originally started his taping journey when he used to work with exotic dancers in Miami clubs. And now his designs have landed him work in over 42 countries, works with Playboy and is a regular feature at New York Fashion Week.
