Patrick Mahomes swapped the NFL for the NBA over the weekend, as he lauded Kyrie Irving’s ‘greatness’ and swapped jerseys with Luka Doncic after taking in the Dallas Mavericks‘ buzzer-beater win over the Denver Nuggets.
The 28-year-old Chiefs quarterback, who won his third Super Bowl ring with Kansas City in February, was at American Airlines Center on Sunday to watch the No.7-seed Mavs’ take on the NBA reigning champions. The Nuggets currently swap places with the Oklahoma City Thunder on a daily basis as the first seed of the West.
Wearing a Dallas blue Louis Vuitton shirt, Mahomes sat courtside during the game with his wife, Brittany, who paired a Canadian Tuxedo – an all-denim outfit – with white boots.
Together, they watched Doncic and Irving score 71 points combined.
Doncic had 37 of those, along with nine rebounds and three assists, while Irving went for 24 points, including a successful left hook shot from 20.1 feet out with 2.7 secs remaining.

‘Greatness, Dawg. Greatness,’ Mahomes told Irving post-game, when they met up in the tunnel.
‘Yes sir,’ Irving replied.

Mahomes also went over to greet Doncic after Irving’s epic game-winner, gifting the Mavs’ star a signed Chiefs jersey with his name and number on the back.
‘Great game, man,’ he told Doncic, before referring to the playoffs, which start on April 20.
‘Good luck on the way out. I’ll be back out here. For sure man, appreciate it.’
