Dracula: A Love Tale is the new gothic horror film directed and written by Luc Besson, scheduled for release in France on July 30, 2025. Starring Caleb Landry Jones as Count Dracula and Christoph Waltz as a vampire-hunting priest, the film relocates Bram Stoker’s classic story from Victorian England to Belle Époque Paris.
The plot follows Dracula, a 15th-century prince who, after the death of his wife Elisabeta, renounces God and becomes a vampire. Centuries later in Paris, Dracula becomes obsessed with Mina, a young woman identical to his lost love—both portrayed by Zoë Bleu. His quest for love and redemption brings him face to face with new enemies and a tragic destiny, while the priest (Christoph Waltz) seeks to end his reign of terror.
With a stylish visual aesthetic and a romantic, dark approach, the film promises a modern and sophisticated take on the myth, highlighted by Caleb Landry Jones’s chameleonic performance and Luc Besson’s signature visual style.
