Shocking Reveal: Does Akainu Really Have a Daughter Who is a SWORD Member?

Akainu is one of the biggest antagonists in One Piece and certainly a very important character, especially in the Final Saga of the story.

Oda has been saving Akainu for this particular segment of the plot, and it goes without saying that he will drive the story forward in many exciting ways in the Final Saga, given that he’s one of the main antagonists who will inevitably go on to stand in Luffy’s path, even when he goes on to become the Pirate King.

He is easily one of the strongest in the world, as has been confirmed recently in the Vivre Cards, and of course, a lot of the fans had already assumed before as well. When it comes to Akainu, usually, all the focus is surrounding him. However, Akainu might even have a secret child that fans know very little about. This child was first hinted at around the beginning of the Final Saga, and now, the possibility of this child becoming more prevalent in the series is real. In the latest set of Vivre Cards, Oda has hinted at Akainu’s daughter once again, and fans are incredibly excited to see whether it goes on to become real or not.

Akainu’s Secret Child Hinted In One Piece

Akainu Might Be The Only Marine With A Child

Akainu’s Daughter Could Be A Part Of SWORD

Avid readers or watchers of One Piece might be confused about where exactly Oda hinted that Akainu even has a child. This is only natural, as this hint is more difficult to translate and is often lost in translation. Even the sharpest of readers might not have gotten the hint unless they can also understand Japanese. Around the beginning of the Egghead Island Arc, Oda introduced quite a lot of exciting characters and one of them appears to Have a potential link to none other than Fleet Admiral Sakazuki. It would also make sense for Akainu to have a child, given that he’s quite old. Naturally, Akainu’s duty prevents him from taking care of his potential child, but fans do not know much about that, at least yet.

I came to rescue you, Koby-senpai! – Hibari

Coming back to Akainu’s secret child, One Piece’s Egghead Island Arc introduced a lot of new SWORD members to the fans. Prior to the Final Saga, the only two people fans knew operated in the SWORD were X Drake and Koby. However, in the Final Saga, fans are introduced to Prince Grus, Kujaku, and Hibari. It is none other than Hibari who is hinted to be Akainu’s very own daughter in One Piece. While fans might be surprised at that, the fact is that Hibari speaks in a very unique way in Japanese. Hibari seems to speak in Hiroshima dialect, which is very rare in One Piece. In fact, there is only one other character in the entirety of One Piece who uses the Hiroshima dialect, and that is none other than Akainu. Clearly, the fact that only these two individuals in One Piece use the Hiroshima dialect means that there is a connection between them, and when one thinks of it, the easiest connection to make here would be that Hibari is Akainu’s daughter.

This is enough basis for this idea to make sense. However, that is not all. A lot of members of the sword that fans have seen so far have a connection to a former Marine, With Koby and Prince Grus being the exception. For instance, Helmeppo had his own father in the Marines. Similarly, X Drake’s dad, Diez Barrels, was in the Marines as well. Kujaku’s grandmother is none other than Tsuru, which leads many fans to believe that Prince Grus likely has a connection in the Navy as well, and that Hibari is none other than Akainu’s daughter. It would be interesting to see if this idea comes true or not.

Oda Reveals Information On Hibari Of The Marines

Hibari Has More In Common With Akainu Than Just The Dialect

Although the fact that both Hibari and Akainu use the same dialect is strong enough for this idea at the stand, this isn’t all. Oda recently revealed a Vivre Card pack, which went over the members of the SWORD.

Here, he revealed yet another exciting detail that essentially confirms to the fans that Hibari and Sakazuki have a very strong connection. While not every fan will have gotten this detail, it is quite exciting, to say the least. The Vivre Cards usually go over general facts about various characters, such as their name, their blood type, their sea of origin, and the type of Haki they wield, among all else. Here, Oda revealed quite a lot of exciting information about Hibari. For instance, Hibari’s sea of origin was revealed to be the North Blue. Of course, on its own, this isn’t enough to make any sort of a connection, however, when looking at Akainu’s card, it is clearly stated that his sea of origin is also the North Blue, which is very interesting.

I won’t let any pirates escape!! – Akainu

Now, fans might think that this is yet another coincidence, but then one looks at Hibari’s blood type, which is revealed to be F, and, once again, Akainu’s blood type is F as well. So, taking everything into consideration, Akainu and Hibari have the same blood type, and stem from the same sea as well. On top of that, these two characters are the only two individuals in the entirety of One Piece world, which consists of thousands upon thousands of characters, to have a Hiroshima dialect, and when taking all this into consideration, it is essentially a confirmation of the fact that these two are related.

Is Hibari Akainu’s Daughter?

Hibari And Akainu’s Connection Is Very Strong

As to how they would be related, one can’t say for sure, but, the most likely outcome is that Hibari is Akainu’s very own daughter. Naturally, fans usually don’t expect a character such as Akainu to have a child. After all, none of the Marine Admirals that were introduced to the fans seem to have children. Kuzan seems to be single and unmarried at this point in time, and the same can be said for Kizaru as well. There is nothing that indicates these two have ever married or have had children. Akainu has major hints for him having a child, which indicate that he is a married man. Coming over to his relationship with Hibari, fans do not know much, but, the fact that she is in the SWORD faction of the Marines seems to imply that she followed her father and wanted to dispense Justice pirates.

That said, Hibari is the exact opposite of her potential father. Unlike Akainu, Hibari isn’t cruel. In fact, she doesn’t even use cruel methods while fighting. Her weapon of choice, as seen in the story so far, is vegapunks GP Gun. Using this weapon, she can neutralize opponents Armament and essentially crippled them greatly in battle. This isn’t all, as Hibari can also utilize Armament and Observation Haki. She is incredibly strong, and her Cross Guild bounty has been put at an impressive 200 million berries. Hopefully, fans will get to see more of her in the future, and confirmation will be given on whether she truly is Akainu’s daughter or not.
